Kune Kune Pigs

Kune kune pigs, pronounced cooney cooney, are a small, rare heritage breed. Calm, docile and almost dog like in manner they make a wonderful addition to the homestead.  They come in a wide variety of colors and coat types. Kune kunes are easy on fencing and prefer to graze over rooting so are perfect for raising as pastured pork. Their meat has an excellent meat to fat ratio and the flavor is very savory.

We discovered these wonderful little pigs and bought our first breeding stock from Kunekune Preserve.  Starting out with a breeding trio and a couple destined for the freezer we quickly fell in love. After processing our first pig and tasted the end result we were 100% sold on the versatility and economic sense of raising a pig that forages and needs very little in supplemental food. We have since added to the herd and now offer registered and unregistered breeding stock and at times have pastured pork for sale.
